Standing Tall

Here is an image I worked on a few weeks ago for Canadian Lawyer. This one was for an article about Canada’s Supreme Court Judges and theĀ  ideologically confusion that seems to be hovering over them.

What it is that has just been sent!

To you. Well, that is, if you live on the continent that does not involve a plane or a boat to get the latest postcard to you.
So, for those of you who may not get this, here it is. The image I used on the front that is. Hope all is well.

The look!

A drawing that sort of sums up how I am feeling today. With the skies are lacking colour, the air a little heavier. Tomorrow will be a little brighter.

Here is a drawing from my sketchbook that had a bit of text on the page. I blurred it a little and put the drawing of the happy guy over top.

Something new

Here are a few new images. More to come soon from the sketchbook. Hope you have had a wonderful summer.

The small contractor going after, or rather not going after, the corporate giant. Even though their small business could be at stake.

This illustration here was for UP Magazine. The article was looking at the superstitions in the Caribbean. This one specifically was about women who eat directly from a pot before their wedding will have rain on their wedding day. Bring an umbrella I guess.

Several new works

Here are several images that have come together over the last couple of months. It has been quite a busy summer with several exciting projects. You can see more by taking a look at my portfolio.

First image was for the San Fransisco Chronicle. Article was called “Clearing the Air About Coughs”. Was quite a fun image to work on and it all happened while on holidays out on the east coast. You have to love technology.

This one was done for Avenue Magazine in Calgary. Charter schools are turning out to a be a big hit with the public. However, the Public School System, is not so thrilled with the results, and the fact that the Charter Schools, are pulling students away from the Public System. They may want to consider overhauling this out of date, antiquated system. Then maybe they will stop seeing students move over to Charter schools.

An image for Avenue Magazine in Edmonton. The Smart Board in the class room. A tool that is becoming more and more popular in Alberta schools.

From the first week in Montreal

Here are a few drawings from doing with my friend Lucie Carmen Gregoire in Montreal. She is a dancer, and good friend, that I will be collaborating on a show with. These drawings are from her working on some movement as I we were discussing which direction to go.

Cover for Tomato Magazine

Here is another cover I did for Tomato in Edmonton. The idea was fairly open. Just needed to be about one of the following; BBQ’s and grilling, salads, or patios. So I guess why not put someone sitting in, the salad bowl. I would suggest plastic plants as well so the oil in the dressing doesn’t ruin them.

For Jil–Heading east!

A view from the front seat of the bus where my back stiffens and I grow a little more restless with each kilometer passed. Heading to Montreal to begin a collaboration with a friend who works with dance and movement. Will post more about this as the week progresses. Looking forward though.

Layout of the “Beast” Label

Here is the actual layout of the label I just finished for Randle Design. As soon as I have some of the wine in my hungry little hands, I will photograph a bottle and post it here.

Full House

A drawing I did in my sketchbook. Started out just being a house that I was compelled to draw while sitting in a movie. Then I thought, why not put bars on the windows and then fill it with people. People being watched by some curious little birds on the lines above.
